Savvy VOD collects the information needed to operate a private, branded video-on-demand platform. Depending on how the platform is configured, this may include names, email addresses, login details, organisation information and other account or profile details.

When viewers use the platform, we may collect viewing and interaction data such as videos watched, watch progress, session information and feature usage. We may also process technical information such as IP address, browser type, device information and log data to keep the platform secure and reliable.

Customers decide which content and user information they make available through their Savvy VOD platform. Sensitive information is not required for the standard use of the service.

We process this data to provide secure access to the platform, host and deliver video content, manage user accounts, provide viewer analytics and improve the reliability and performance of Savvy VOD.

We also use technical and security information to prevent misuse, investigate incidents and protect the platform, our customers and viewers.

Savvy VOD provides the platform and processes data on behalf of the organisation that operates the relevant video platform. That organisation determines which users can access its content and how viewer data is used for its own communication, training, reporting or other business purposes.

We only share account and viewing information with the relevant customer and authorised users in accordance with the customer’s instructions and our agreement. We do not sell personal data or make it available to unrelated third parties.

Platform data is stored in the European Union in accordance with applicable European data protection legislation. We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect data while it is stored and delivered through the platform.

Where a customer ends its use of Savvy VOD, data is deleted or returned in accordance with the agreed retention and deletion arrangements.

We collect only the information needed to provide the requested platform experience, including account details, authentication information, video content metadata, viewing activity and platform interaction data.

The customer may configure authentication features such as email login, access codes or two-factor authentication. These features may require additional login or security information to verify access.

For customer platforms, we enter into a data processing agreement with the organisation using Savvy VOD. The agreement defines the processing purposes, categories of data, retention periods, access controls and responsibilities of each party.

The customer is generally responsible for informing its users about the content and purposes of its processing. Savvy VOD processes customer data only as needed to provide and secure the service, in line with the customer’s documented instructions.

Savvy VOD uses access controls, authentication safeguards and encryption in transit and at rest to help protect platform data. Access to customer data is limited to authorised personnel and service providers who need it to operate, maintain or secure the platform.

We regularly review our technical and organisational measures and investigate suspected security incidents in accordance with our agreements and applicable law.

Personal data is retained only for as long as needed to provide Savvy VOD, support the customer’s platform and meet applicable legal or security requirements. Customers can manage user access and content within their platform.

When the customer’s service ends, data is returned or securely deleted according to the applicable agreement, unless a longer retention period is required by law.

You can request access to your personal data, ask for corrections, or request deletion where applicable. If your data is processed through a Savvy VOD platform operated by one of our customers, please contact that organisation first, as it controls the relevant account and viewer data.
